WLC 400: WLC Major Capstone
Description of the course:
Students work with the instructor and WLC faculty advisors to research, synthesize, write and present their Capstone projects. Students will also assemble a Graduation Portfolio reflecting how each MLO was met. This course is required for all Japanese, Spanish and World Languages and Cultures majors. (Offered spring semester.) (Credit/ No Credit Available)
Units: 4
Which MLO does this course meet: MLO 1, 6
Course Reflection Narrative:
In this class we finalized our e-portfolios, worked on our capstone paper and capstone presentations in both English and Spanish.
Working with Dr. Zapata, she helped guide my capstone paper along, helping with any questions I may have had about furthering along my research, formatting work in appropriate APA style and guiding the powerpoint presentations. This course helped me build the foundation to write more papers of this style if I choose to pursue a master's degree.
One of the parts of this class that I might be able to replicate in the future is building a website in order to showcase my work. I think this was a very easy process to build a platform where it can be can be accessible to different people or employers if they wish to see the progress that was made while completing my degree.
